Will smoke from cigarettes or vape cause the smoke detector to beep?
Yes, both cigarette smoke and vape smoke can potentially trigger a smoke detector, especially if the smoke is dense and reaches the detector's sensors. Smoke detectors are designed to detect particles in the air that are produced by combustion processes, which include the smoke generated from cigarettes and vaping devices.
Cooking smoke, especially if it is thick or contains particles from burnt food, can also trigger a smoke detector.
To prevent false alarms, it's important to ensure proper ventilation while cooking and to avoid blowing smoke directly at the smoke detector.
How many do I actually need for my house?
